I would like to welcome you to my blog and Bible study site, UNLEAVENED FAITH. My name is Paul Walker and I have been saved, reading and studying God's word for 40+ years. I do not claim to be a scholar, in fact, I would deny it vehemently. I am a common man writing to common men and women about the unleavened common faith. Most importantly, my blog and studies are about letting the word of God speak for itself.
I believe the Bible is to be understood and received in the plain and obvious meaning of its passages; for I cannot persuade myself that a book intended for the instruction and conversion of the whole world should cover its true meaning in any such mystery and doubt that none but critics and philosophers can discover it.

I suppose that the first aspect of this site a reader needs to understand is that all my studies are based on one Bible, the Authorized Version of 1611, commonly called the King James Bible. Unless it agrees with what the AV says, it ain't right. Many believe that any version will do, they all teach the same thing; well, where they do, fine and dandy. Where they do not proves they are different and in that case my authority is the Authorized Version of 1611. At this point, I would recommend that this blog entry be considered. More on this can be found under the category Bible Version or tag versions.
This is not a debate site. I am not trying to reach out to or seeking visitors that hold beliefs contrary to mine. The purpose of this site is to aid others who are seeking to know and understand God and His unleavened word, believed, and rightly divided. It is to promote a fellowship of believers in Christ Jesus.
1 Corinthians 5:7-8 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Matthew 16:12 Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
There are a few things you should know about this site. I believe the Bible teaches:
- Man has free will
- Salvation is by grace without works
- Open Theology--history is on going in real time
If you continue reading further you will inevitably read that those three statements form a certain biblical view or framework in which I approach the study of God's word, my bias. Each of us, if we desire to understand the Scriptures, must seek and find the correct framework or bias to bring or they will be misinterpreting the Bible. You will have to continue to read to find out more about this.
The Bible is written in layers; the deeper you go the more demanding the study becomes. To be honest with you, I spend most of my time studying the first couple, easiest, of layers. Due to the lack of the average Christian's knowledge of the Scriptures, I find a large demand for general studies in the upper strata.
The articles and studies on this site are written in a common manner, non-theological jargon. The average teenager on up should have no trouble reading and understand them. You will not find words as: creatio ex nihilo, ecclesiology, Elohist, epistemology, eschatology, exegesis, hermeneutics, or running to the Greek and Hebrew to prove my opinion on what a passage of Scripture means.
And it is the English Bible we are thinking about, the Bible in the vernacular, the tongue most of us best understand. One is grateful to have studied Hebrew and Greek, just to be able to tell others who have not that they do not require either to hearken to our Heavenly Father’s voice. He has an advantage as a scholar who can utilize the original tongues; but the Bible was not given to scholars, but to the people, and “hear we every man in our own tongue wherein we were born” (Acts 2:8

If you are not saved or looking to be, you probably will not enjoy this site. I am writing to Christians that desire to improve their knowledge and understanding of God's word
