A Fellowship in the World, but not of the World

Confirming Defending Bearing the Gospel of Christ Jesus

Introduction to Politics

All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

1 Corinthians 10:23

All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

Corinthians 6:12

Having trusted in the shed blood of the Son of God for the forgiveness of our sins, we are saved.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

"All things are lawful for me", but I will be judged by my Lord and Saviour for all that I do in this body. We will suffer loss for things done that were not pleasing to him. "All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient:" Expedient, appropriate to the cause, serving our purpose. What is our cause, our purpose? Is it not to glorify God and our Saviour? Should our focus in life be the salvation of others? How about our husbands, wives, children, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, should we not focus our lives on what is most expedient to their salvation?

Would it not be expedient to have freedom to act and speak in a manner that was expedient to the purpose of saving others? Yes, our nation is the most expedient in the world for each and everyone of us to live our lives in accordance with our religion and politics. Why would anyone want to destroy such a nation? Could it be that some just want unfetter freedom to do whatever they want, where and when they want, regardless of the consequences? regardless of anyone else? or, could there be a spiritual war going on also? Do we really have an enemy that desire to damn all that he can? maybe it is a combination of both?

The left, progressives, or whatever name that currently applies to them, say they are at war with all who disagree with them. How many sides have to be at war for a war to exist? We are at war. If we do not wake up to this fact, we are going to lose the war. We are already losing the war!

For the purposes of the studies published under this category I will be using the term Progressive to stand for all that is left of center, Communism, Socialism, Fascism, etc. There end game is the same regardless of any differences they may have in means to achieve their goal of subjugating the earth. Every one of them wherever it was instituted decimated the nation and its people. It is sure they will and are doing so to us.

Nature smiles at the union of freedom and equality in our utopias. For freedom and equality are sworn and everlasting enemies, and when one prevails the other dies. Leave men free, and their natural inequalities will multiply almost geometrically, as in England and America in the nineteenth century under laissez-faire. To check the growth of inequality, liberty must be sacrificed, as in Russia after 1917. Even when repressed, inequality grows; only the man who is below the average in economic ability desires equality; those who are conscious of superior ability desire freedom; and in the end superior ability has its way. Utopias of equality are biologically doomed, and the best the amiable philosopher can hope for is an approximate equality of legal justice and educational opportunity.

America is supposed to be about freedom and equality, insofar as equality coexist with liberty; equality under the law, justice for all, which includes a level playing field; equal rights. The trouble is that there are some who are not after equal rights, but all the rights.

Taking part in the politics of one’s nation, state, community is a noble endeavor, a politician is a most ignoble creature. Here we are concerned with the basic framework of our nation. We concur with the statement, "The government that governs least, governs best." Our founders truly made a 5,000 year leap in establishing our government. It was a total departure from the middle ages.

In the few brief articles in this section ideas on how to repair our framework and restore to ourselves liberties lost through the efforts of our enemies, whether they be flesh and blood or spiritual.
