Pure and sweet, pure and sweet,
Pure and sweet and true.
Little child with the steadfast eyes,
Eyes of heaven's own blue.

Would, O God! that I were still,
Even such as you.
Pure and sweet, pure and sweet,
Pure and sweet and true.

From time to time I have been ask to describe a proper Christian life. Now there is quite a bit one can reference from the Scriptures on this subject; but I have found that all can be reduced  to only three things that are needful to fulfill our duty to God and man:

Preparing and presenting ourselves for God's use:

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 Timothy 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Isaiah 1:18

The Bible is both simple and complicated and is meant to be, however, it is not as difficult as some would like us to believe. Many things are given to us, many more test our determination and desire to know and understand God’s word. Having trusted in our Lord and Saviour unto salvation, is there *more? Yes there is more. God’s plan of salvation requires our involvement, our faithfulness.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Romans 10:13-14

For the want of a shoe the horse was lost,
For the want of a horse the rider was lost,
For the want of a rider the battle was lost,
For the want of a battle the kingdom was lost,
And all for the want of a horseshoe-nail.”

Benjamin Franklin

How many of the millions of lost souls will it become known on the day all things are reveal that:

For the want of our knowing the Scriptures our faithfulness was lost,
For want of our faithfulness our witness was lost,
For the want of our witness the truth was lost,
For the want of the truth they were lost,
All for the want of us knowing God’s word.

This fellowship has no doubt that those that have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins; man, woman, or child, has been called to be a witness for him, to preach, to teach, to evangelize in your home, at your work, in the street, to your family, friends, neighbors and strangers. If you will witness for him, you will be sent, to family, friends, and strangers alike.

I am my neighbor's Bible:
He reads me when we meet,
Today he reads me in my house,
Tomorrow in the street;

He may be relative or friend,
or slight acquaintance be;
He may not even know

I have always found that the greatest hindrance to a good witness is not having the answers to questions that may be asked; and that the fear of not having the answers one of the reasons for not witnessing. It ought to go without saying, but over the years I have figured out that what ought to go without saying rarely does, that knowing the Bible is really, really important in fulfilling our part of God’s plan of salvation. Whether we feel a particular subject is important for us to know or whether it interest us or is a factor in our life we need to know for the sake of others, for the sake of lost souls that might be hesitant to commit to something that cannot provide the answers they seek.

In addition, for us not to know God’s word personally blinds us to the dearth of truth in what is being preached and taught as Bible and allows us to be deceived and being deceived makes us transgressors.

And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

1 Timothy 2:14

But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

2 Timothy 3:13

The only safe guard we have from being deceived is a thorough knowledge of what the Bible says. The studies contained on this site are written in the hope of aiding others to fulfill the obligations of their Christian lives, to grow in grace, knowledge, wisdom and ability to witness the saving grace of our Lord to the glory of God. It has aptly been said, "It takes a whole Bible to make a Whole Christian."

 We Believe:

  • That: Jesus Christ was the Son Of God/God manifested in the flesh
  • That: God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself
  • That: Jesus Christ died on the cross for the sins of the whole world
  • That: Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved
  • That: We preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants in Christ Jesus
  • That: God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance
  • That: These facts are presented on an individual basis by the Spirit of God through the preaching/witnessing of the saved to the lost
  • That: By grace are ye saved through faith: it is the gift of God: Not of works
  • We hold to the 1611 Authorize Version of the Bible, commonly called the King James Version

A Fellowship in Christ Jesus is dedicated to preaching and teaching the gospel of salvation and the whole counsel of God's word.
